About These Little Dolls...
Vasalisa is the name given to a little doll that was used to connect someone to their intuition. The folk tale, Vasalisa the Wise, that inspired these dolls is ancient and was in use from at least the horse cultures of pre-historic Greece. We know the story most recently from Russia and other eastern European countries.
In the story a dying mother gives a little doll to her daughter to keep with her. She instructs her to feed the little doll and ask it for help. In this way the child is able to go forth in the darkness of the unknown and not be overwhelmed even though she is without the love and protection of her mother. The doll sees her owner through many harrowing events by jumping around in her pocket to alert her at times when she especially needs to pay attention. By accessing her own inner wisdom, the doll’s owner is able to resolve difficult life situations and grow in knowledge of her self.
I make these little dolls because I feel we can all use such help from time to time.
Each doll is made according to a simple pattern I developed. While they are similar, each one has her own personality.
Dolls vary in height from 4.5" to 6".
This little doll can reflect back to you something you value most.
Keep her close and consult her often.
